Minister of Works David Umahi has arrived in Edo State to inspect the troubled Benin–Agbor–Asaba Expressway, following mounting complaints, protests and severe gridlock along the corridor.
A video circulating from the minister’s arrival shows Umahi appearing to walk with difficulty, as he moves to assess the condition of the road.
The minister had earlier promised that the Federal Government would urgently address the crisis. He is expected to engage with engineers, the concessionaire, state government officials and other stakeholders over the deteriorating road.
The Benin–Agbor corridor has recently witnessed severe congestion and protests, with motorists reportedly spending hours—and in some cases much longer—trying to navigate affected sections.
