The Delta State Government has strongly condemned the violent incident reported in Effurun, describing it as unacceptable and a direct threat to the peace and security enjoyed across the state.
Reacting to videos of the incident circulating on social media, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said the government was deeply disturbed by the attack on Simon Mudi and other reported acts of violence.
Aniagwu stated that the government has directed security agencies to swiftly identify, arrest, and prosecute everyone involved in the incident, stressing that no individual or group would be allowed to undermine public peace.
He reaffirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to maintaining law and order, assuring residents that the administration remains resolute in protecting lives and property while ensuring that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
